The parcel usually reaches the parcel machine the next day, so from order to hand is about 3\u20134 days on average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If something is going to take longer \u2014 a part is out of stock, for instance \u2014 we email you ourselves. We hand-stamp in capitals and lower case, so you can write exactly as the message should look \u2014 either all in capitals or as an ordinary sentence.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Do Estonian letters (\u00f5, \u00e4, \u00f6, \u00fc) work?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, all of them. But if you want to be sure, <a href=\"https:\/\/radezain.ee\/en\/contact\/\">write to us<\/a> \u2014 we will send a photo before engraving.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Do you check the text I enter?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We make the piece exactly with the text you enter \u2014 we do not correct spelling or change the wording on our own, because a \u201emistake&#8221; may well be deliberate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So do read the text over in the <strong>cart<\/strong>. That is where you can still change it.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group rz-kkk__grupp has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" id=\"kat-tehnika\" data-kat=\"tehnika\">\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading rz-kkk__pealkiri\">Engraving and hand-stamping \u2014 the difference<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>What is the difference between engraving and hand-stamping?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two completely different crafts, both of them ours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hand-stamping<\/strong> \u2014 each letter is struck into the metal one at a time, with a steel stamp and a hammer. The letter sinks into the metal and leaves a raised mark you can feel. Because it is handwork, the letters are not at mathematically equal distances or on a perfectly straight line \u2014 much like handwriting. That is the beauty of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Engraving<\/strong> \u2014 a laser burns the image into the surface of the metal. The result is fine, even and precise. Engraving can do far more than letters: a fingerprint, handwriting, a drawing, coordinates, musical notes.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Which should I choose?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A simple guide:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"rz-kkk__loend wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>You want it to look <strong>handmade, warm and imperfect<\/strong> \u2192 hand-stamped<\/li>\n\n\n<li>You want a <strong>fine, precise, minimal<\/strong> line or a long text \u2192 engraved<\/li>\n\n\n<li>You want <strong>an image, a fingerprint or handwriting<\/strong> \u2192 engraved (stamping can only do letters and icons)<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On some products you choose yourself; on the rest the technique is set by the piece.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Which lasts longer?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A stamped mark is deeper and lasts practically forever. Engraving sits closer to the surface and, under very heavy daily rubbing, can dull over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For jewellery worn in the ordinary way, neither is a concern.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>What does \u201efilling the letters in black&quot; mean?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stamped letters are the same metal as the piece, so they stay discreet. If we fill the recesses with black, the text jumps out and is readable from much further away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The option is on the product page. <strong>For small 1.5 mm letters we recommend the black fill<\/strong> \u2014 otherwise they are barely noticeable.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>What do \u201esoft and subtle&quot; and \u201emore pronounced&quot; mean for engraving?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The depth and contrast of the engraving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Soft<\/strong> is fine and light \u2014 lovely if you want the piece to be quiet and the text to reveal itself only up close. <strong>More pronounced<\/strong> is darker and readable at arm&#8217;s length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the piece is a gift and the message is meant to be shown, choose the more pronounced one.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Can the engraving or stamping be removed or changed later?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No. Both change the metal permanently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is why we ask you to read the text over in the <strong>cart<\/strong> \u2014 you can still change it there, but not after the order is placed.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Will my piece look exactly like the product photo?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not quite \u2014 and that is the charm of personal handwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On hand-stamped pieces the placement, depth and spacing of the letters can vary a little. The result of an engraved image also depends on the lines of the original and the size of the piece. Every piece is made to your order and is therefore one of a kind.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group rz-kkk__grupp has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" id=\"kat-pildid\" data-kat=\"pildid\">\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading rz-kkk__pealkiri\">Handwriting, drawings and photos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>How do I get handwriting onto a piece?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Write the words <strong>on white paper with a black pen or marker<\/strong> \u2014 the thicker the line, the better the result. Write larger than usual (letters about 2\u20133 cm tall), because we will reduce it to the size of the piece. Photograph it straight on in diffuse light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have the handwriting of someone who has died \u2014 from a letter, a card, the margin of a recipe \u2014 that works too. What matters is that the handwriting is clearly visible in the photo.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Can a child&#x27;s drawing really be engraved onto a piece?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, and honestly it is one of the loveliest things we do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Simple drawings with clear lines<\/strong> work best \u2014 a stick figure, a heart, a sun, a cat whose paws point the wrong way. The fewer the details, the better it lives on a small piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tips that make the difference:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"rz-kkk__loend wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>let the child draw <strong>with a black or dark marker on white paper<\/strong> (if the drawing is already done in pale blue pencil, send it anyway \u2014 we strengthen the contrast ourselves)<\/li>\n\n\n<li>photograph <strong>the whole drawing<\/strong>, we will crop what is needed<\/li>\n\n\n<li>do not worry if the drawing is large \u2014 we reduce it to the size of the piece and the lines stay<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the child has written their own name or \u201eMUM&#8221;, then that. Nothing lovelier exists. Send us <strong>the original file, just as it is<\/strong> \u2014 we prepare the image for engraving ourselves and remove the paper, the tabletop and the shadows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please do not apply filters or \u201eauto-enhance&#8221;, and do not shrink the file. That takes away exactly the detail we need.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Will the engraving be in colour?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No. The engraving is in the tone of the metal itself \u2014 a darker line on lighter metal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From a colour image we use the lines, shapes and contrasts, not the colours. That is why a high-contrast image comes out best: a red drawing on a green background may look very distinct to the eye, but not to the laser.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Does the background of the photo end up on the piece?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Generally no. We engrave only what you actually want \u2014 the drawing, not the paper; the animal, not the sofa behind it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If there is something you definitely want kept or definitely removed, write it in the order notes.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Can a photo of a person or a pet be engraved?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The laser translates a photo into dark and light areas, so <strong>contrast matters more than detail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A good photo:<\/strong> a clear subject, a simple or blurred background, even daylight, taken close up (the face or the animal&#8217;s head filling most of the frame), the original file from your phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What comes out badly:<\/strong> a photo sent through Messenger or WhatsApp or saved as a screenshot (compressed, detail gone), a busy background, many people, a very small face, strong backlight or deep shadows on the face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If in doubt, <a href=\"https:\/\/radezain.ee\/en\/contact\/\">send the photo before ordering<\/a> \u2014 we will look at it and tell you honestly whether it will make something beautiful. It is free and it saves disappointment.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Will the engraved photo look exactly like the photo?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No, and that is its charm. An engraving is a <strong>stylised, graphic interpretation<\/strong> \u2014 something like an ink drawing or an old stone carving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Faces are recognisable, but fine gradations (hair, a thin shadow) become simpler. For every photo we do the processing by hand before engraving and choose the contrast so the result is the best it can be.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>How large does the image need to be to stay recognisable?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A face needs at least 20 mm of width to stay recognisable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A paw print, a fingerprint, a silhouette or a simple drawing already work well at 12 mm. On a very small disc we would suggest text or a simple symbol rather than a photo.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Can several drawings or pieces of handwriting fit on one item?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On a small pendant, <strong>one clear image<\/strong> is almost always lovelier than three tiny ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have several children and several drawings, the better options are: a second engraving on the back, several pendants on the same chain, or a larger piece. <a href=\"https:\/\/radezain.ee\/en\/contact\/\">Write to us<\/a> with what you have in mind \u2014 we will say what will genuinely look good.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>What file types can I upload?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">JPG, PNG, WEBP and HEIC (the iPhone default). You need a pencil, white paper and sticky tape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"rz-kkk__loend wp-block-list\">\n\n<li><strong>A clean, dry finger.<\/strong> Wash your hands and dry them properly. A damp or greasy finger leaves blurred lines.<\/li>\n\n\n<li><strong>Make a dark patch on the paper.<\/strong> Draw a square of about 5 \u00d7 5 cm and shade it evenly dark with a pencil.<\/li>\n\n\n<li><strong>Rub your fingertip on the patch<\/strong> so the ridges carry a proper layer of graphite.<\/li>\n\n\n<li><strong>Press your finger onto the sticky side of the tape \u2014 only ONCE.<\/strong> Do not move or roll your finger, or the print will smudge. Lift the finger straight up.<\/li>\n\n\n<li><strong>Stick the tape onto white paper.<\/strong> Now the print is clearly visible: dark ridges on a white background.<\/li>\n\n\n<li><strong>Photograph it from directly above<\/strong> in good daylight, with the phone parallel to the paper.<\/li>\n\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pencil method gives a sharper print than an ink pad, because ink tends to spread.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Do I need an ink pad at all?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No. What matters is not the tool but the result: the ridges of the print must be clearly distinguishable in the photo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pencil-and-tape method works very well and everything you need is already at home.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>What makes a good fingerprint?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A good print:<\/strong> you can see clear separate ridges, the pattern in the centre of the finger is visible, the lines have not run together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A bad print:<\/strong> a black blob (too much graphite), a broken pale shadow (too little), or a smudged print (the finger moved).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You do not need a perfect print \u2014 we clean the image up before engraving if needed.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Should I send one print or several?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Make several and <strong>photograph them all together in one image<\/strong> \u2014 that way we choose the clearest and you do not have to decide from memory which one is \u201eright&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three or four prints side by side on one sheet is ideal.<\/p>\n\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details rz-kkk__kys is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>What if my fingerprint does not come out well?<\/summary>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Send it anyway. That is what the law says as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Non-personalised items (ready-made pieces, for example) can be returned within 14 days if unused and in their original packaging. With personal handwork no two pieces are identical the way mass production is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hand-stamping especially can vary a little in the placement, force and spacing of the letters.
